The spectacle was appalling, this Saturday, October 8, for the Toulouse police. This Saturday, October 8, they intercepted a truck transporting mistreated horses, at the northern toll of the A62 motorway.
In the vehicle trailer: eleven horses close together, two of them wounded. The police find that they have neither water nor food. As for the ventilation, it is defective. A horse is in such bad shape that he must be put down on site by the veterinary services.
The driver, a Maltese, had come to the region to buy these racehorses. The animals were transported to the Toulouse veterinary school, which takes care of them.
The investigation is continuing. The 31-year-old driver was taken into custody for animal offenses. He was released.
