Above the Voulte in Ardèche, the farm of happiness: the farm of Tallans

10 minutes from the Rhone Valley, taking a country road, you will discover Tallans. Perched 500m above sea level, this 11th century hamlet, undergoing renovation, will surprise you with its calm and panoramic view.

In 2012, Firmin passionate farmer takes over the Tallans farm in organic farming on the heights of the town of Rompon. He raises about fifty chamois alpine breed goats. The entire milk production is transformed into PDO Picodon cheese. He also offers chestnut cream and jams from the farm’s orchard.

I am a peasant, not an operator!

The organic farm of TALLANS operates in complete autonomy. Apart from pig feed, 100% of fodder and crops are recycled for breeding. The pigs are raised in the open air in the chestnut groves, the laying hens move about with their mobile henhouse in the parks around the hamlet, and the fifty chamois alpine breed goats and the six “Aubrac” cows graze in all the surfaces of the village. exploitation.

The meeting with Cecile

Cécile then came into her life and that of the farm. In addition to the cheese dairy where Cécile transforms goat’s milk into delicious picodons, a large vegetable garden, a chestnut grove and a large plot of saffron complete the production range with many processed products. Firmin and Cécile will also soon be offering ready meals
