On an amateur video, the passenger of a car filmed flames several meters high. The vehicle grazed the blaze and narrowly passed. Since Saturday August 6, more than 30 fire starts have been recorded in Morbihan. In total, 115 hectares were burned, requiring the tireless work of the firefighters during the night.

In Erdeven (Morbihan), 300 people had to be evacuated. Residents and vacationers were welcomed in a cultural space. They were surprised by the fire. “The night was long for everyone, because we were all a little stressed”says a woman.

The municipality had never experienced such an event, so solidarity had to organize quickly to help all those concerned. Residents have provided food and water for the mobilized firefighters. Sunday, August 7, the fire was fixed but there were still hot spots to extinguish one by one.
