In support of the Muslim community of Metz, the mayor, François Grosdidier organized a gathering on Saturday May 7 at noon on the Place d’Armes, in front of the town hall. About 250 people gathered behind the banner: “Metz, city of tolerance”.

On the night of Thursday May 5 to Friday May 6, 2022, the mosque of the Turkish center Merkez Camii in Metz was targeted by incendiary bottles. Two caught fire, causing minor material damage. The third bottle did not catch fire, it will serve as a clue for the ongoing investigation.
