(Amos) A trip to the lake would have turned tragic for a man after he fell from his paddle board in Lac Beauchamp, located in the small municipality of Trécesson, in Abitibi-Témiscamingue.
Emergency services were notified of the man’s disappearance around 11:15 a.m. Saturday.
According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the man in his twenties was on a paddle board when he fell into the water in Lac Beauchamp, in the Amos sector. He was not wearing a flotation device.
Patrolmen, firefighters from the fire department as well as divers from the SQ conducted a search to find the missing man.
A body was found late in the evening around 10 p.m. by divers. The man was taken to hospital, but the SQ did not have confirmation of his state of health.
