A young speleologist injured and stuck more than 200 meters in a chasm in the Vercors massif, in the Drôme

The caver has been stuck since Wednesday afternoon. He has a knee injury and a rescue operation is underway.

A speleologist is stuck in a gallery of the Scialet Robin, a cave located in the commune of Bouvante, in the Vercors drômois, according to information from a member of the Spéléo Secours Français, contacted by France Bleu Drôme Ardèche on Wednesday August 21. The young man, a minor, is more than 200 meters from the entrance of the cave. He is injured in the knee and a rescue operation is underway.

Medical personnel are to go down to join him to assess the nature of his injury, and then decide on the strategy to adopt to bring him back to the surface. The French Speleo Rescue Service was alerted a little after 6 p.m.
