One more migrant died at the Franco-Spanish border. A young man in his thirties was found dead this Saturday morning on the banks of Bidasoa at the level of the international bridge between Urrugne and Irun.
According to information from our colleagues from Diario Vasco, which we were able to confirm, the young man was found drowned this Saturday morning on the banks of the Bidassoa, on the Guipuscoa side. The alert was given to French firefighters shortly after 6 a.m. His body was taken over by the Ertzaintza, the police of the Basque autonomous community.
This new death brings to ten the number of migrants who have died in a year and a half trying to cross the border. The latest dates back to the end of March. A migrant had initially disappeared before being found dead a few days later in Bidassoa.
