A 29-year-old man died after being fatally injured “with a blow to the chest with a bladed weapon”during a brawl in Saint-Hilaire-du Harcouët (Manche), said the public prosecutor of Coutances in a press release, Saturday April 30. Three men were taken into custody.
The facts took place in the night from Friday to Saturday. According to the first elements collected, the blow was struck at the victim following “reciprocal insults with the occupants of a vehicle”. “Three young men in their twenties” would have got out of this car and one of them would then have carried “a stab wound to the victim”adds the prosecutor in his press release.
The victim was taken care of by an ambulance which passed by chance on the scene and then by the firefighters, but she died despite their intervention. “Three men are currently being taken into custody and questioned on the facts qualified, at this stage, as murder and complicity in murder”according to the magistrate, who adds that the vehicle in question and its occupants had fled before being intercepted by the gendarmerie. “Two other occupants of the vehicle, one 20 years old and the other a minor, are heard as witnesses”, adds the prosecutor. The investigation, conducted under the direction of the Coutances prosecutor’s office and entrusted to the Avranches Research Brigade, is continuing.
