CF Montreal is reportedly eyeing 19-year-old defender Fernando Alvarez, who plays with Pachuca in the Liga MX.
The Colombian would also be coveted by European clubs, but it is Montreal who would be on the verge of concluding a transfer, the renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano reported on Friday. The amount that the Bleu-Blanc-Noir would have to pay would be $1 million.

Alvarez was born in the United States to a Colombian mother and a Mexican father. However, he represents Colombia internationally, in the under-20s. He participated in the most recent U20 World Cup, starting for several games.
Formed by Pachuca, he still hasn’t made an appearance in Liga MX. In 2022-2023, he played in the Mexican third division with his club’s U20s. He also completed a trial with Ajax in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
