A woman was killed and a teenager was seriously injured Thursday in Quebec

A 19-year-old young woman was found dead while a teenager suffered serious injuries early Thursday night in a residence in the Limoilou district, in eastern Quebec.

At daybreak, the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) reported that medical authorities feared that the 16-year-old would not survive.

The police specified in an email sent later that they had gone to the residence on rue Geneviève-Lamarre following the arrest of a 16-year-old teenager for impaired driving and vehicle theft. , after midnight.

The suspect remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later Thursday. The murder investigation continues.

In the morning, the SPVQ explained that the police had found two victims in the residence who showed signs of violence. The young woman was pronounced dead on site.

The SPVQ delegated investigators from the Major Crimes Module. Forensic identification technicians were also deployed to comb through the crime scene.
