A woman was reportedly stabbed in the middle of the street, Thursday evening, on the Plateau Mont-Royal. The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) says it is looking for a suspect aged around 40.
The victim is a 26-year-old woman. She was allegedly attacked in the middle of the street at the corner of Durocher and Milton streets, according to SPVM spokesperson Marianne Allaire Morin. She reportedly suffered at least one stab wound to her upper body.
Also according to the SPVM, several emergency calls were received around 5:30 p.m. Thursday to report a stabbed victim on the public highway. Citizens came to the aid of the victim while waiting for the arrival of paramedics. No information was transmitted on the state of health of the lady, but she was conscious at the time of her transport to the hospital.
When patrol officers arrived at the scene of the attack, the suspect had fled. Police say they are looking for a man in his 40s.
Investigators and forensic identification technicians had to travel to the scene of the incident to gather information and try to understand what happened.
