A 30-year-old woman was arrested and placed in police custody this Thursday evening in Aix-les-Bains (Savoie), suspected of an anti-Semitic attack against a motorist, France Bleu Pays de Savoie learned this Friday from a source close to investigation.

This woman, resident of Tresserve, is suspected of having insulted and attacked a motorist with a tear gas canister, this Thursday around 5:30 p.m., near a Talmudic school, a Jewish religious school, during a dispute whose origin still remains to be determined. The female pedestrian then insulted the motorist of “dirty Jew” and sprayed him with tear gas in the face, according to several witnesses cited by this source. She was then arrested by the national police approximately 30 minutes after the events, at her home in Tresserve.

Slightly injured in the eyes, the victim went to the hospital in the evening to have his ITT checked. A police investigation was opened for racial insults and aggravated violence due to religion. According to information from France Bleu Pays de Savoie, this woman is unfavorably known to the police, at least in one other case of violence and threats.
