A 51-year-old woman died following an armed attack that occurred Sunday evening in Saint-Basile-le-Grand, in Montérégie.
The tragedy occurred around 11:35 p.m. in a single-family residence on rue Ménard. At the scene, the police found the woman seriously injured. She was transported to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
A 53-year-old man was arrested at the scene. It is currently unknown how he and the victim are related.
The woman’s two children were at the scene at the time of the murder. They are currently being questioned by investigators.
