The new executive vice-president of hockey operations of the Canadiens, Jeff Gorton, would have every interest in giving an important role to a woman within his administration, suggested the hockey player Marie-Philip Poulin, Wednesday evening.

Gorton is looking for a CEO, among others, and recently said he will be creative in his hires. Many believe that a woman could receive a wave from the new CH hockey man and the name of Poulin’s agent, Émilie Castonguay, has recently been the subject of rumors.
“Why not? I think these women have brought a lot to hockey, not only to women’s hockey, but they know the “game”, commented the double gold medalist to JiC. I am very fortunate to be able to work with Émilie. She does a lot for me and all of her players. I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I’m very lucky to have it. ”
In the meantime, Poulin and her teammates on the Canadian national team continue to prepare for the Beijing Olympics, even though the country’s Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, has announced a diplomatic boycott of the Games.
“We go one day at a time, we train, it’s our goal to go to the Olympics,” she said. We know that the COC (Canadian Olympic Committee) will do everything to ensure that we are safe and able to compete. ”
In addition to continuing to represent the country brilliantly, the 30-year-old player is now involved with the Hockey Canada Foundation, of which she is an ambassador. In particular, the Foundation helps young, less fortunate players to assume the costs related to their sport. Poulin feels concerned by this cause.
“I’m not from the richest family and my parents worked two to three jobs to keep me playing hockey,” she explained. To have that foundation in place, to be able to help these families, it’s magic. ”
