a woman from Nîmes indicted for complicity in a terrorist assassination

Priscilla M., a radicalized mother and mother from Gard, is suspected of having encouraged the terrorist Abdoullakh Anzorov to assassinate Samuel Paty. According to our colleagues from Le Parisien, she is now indicted for “complicity in terrorist assassination”. Until her new interrogation before the examining magistrate on December 29, this religious wife of a man recently convicted of a terrorist attack project was suspected of criminal terrorist “association of criminals”, a less serious offense.

She remains free under judicial supervision.

According to documents consulted by AFP, and also revealed by Le Parisien, the investigating judge changed his analysis of the facts and now considers that the activity of Priscilla M. on social networks constitutes complicity. ‘Cause she’s (strengthened) Abdullakh Anzorov’s determination to commit criminal acts“, “(ease) location of the victim” and him “at (given) the ideological arguments for committing the assassination of Samuel Paty“.

Justice also accuses her of having kept Anzorov informed, at his request, of the absence of sanction against the teacher whom she would have seen as “the illustration of the non-punishment of blasphemy“.

The investigators suspect that it was through Priscilla M. that Anzorov first saw the video of Brahim Chnina, virulent against Samuel Patywhich was beginning to circulate on the internet.

On social networks, she presents herself under the pseudonym “Sweet scar”. Mother of two children, she raises them alone. She has been a convert to Islam since high school.

Outraged by the story of this “discrimination” – which did not take place – this 33-year-old Nîmes shares the video. Anzorov, whom she did not know and whom she had never met, then contacted her privately on Twitter. From October 9, she exchanged several messages with him.

I should have, it’s true, waited for the explanations before sharing“the video, she admitted to the judge, denying having”at no time” “sought to motivate this act” (the assassination). But according to the judge, during the conversation with Anzorov, Priscilla M. holds “hate speech by the teacher“.

This story of discrimination speaks to me but, at the time, I do not tell myself that he may have terrorist thoughts. How could I have imagined that?“, she continued. “I shouldn’t have argued with strangers on these subjects. That’s a lesson I’ve learned from this affair..”

According to investigators, Priscilla M. had contacts with several people from the radical Islamist movementwhich she claims not to know for the most part.

She was also very close, between April 2020 and June 2021, to the mother of one of the Batacla attackersn, Foued Mohamed Aggad, whom she met during their visits to relatives in prison.

On October 16, 2020, Samuel Paty, professor of history and geography, 47, was stabbed and then beheaded near his college in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine (Yvelines), by Abdoullakh Anzorov, a Russian refugee of Chechen origin, killed shortly soon after by the police. The 18-year-old, radicalized, accused him of having shown caricatures of Muhammad in class. In an audio message in Russian, he claimed responsibility for his gesture, congratulating himself on having “avenged the prophet“Insulted in his eyes by Mr. Paty.

He had become aware of the controversy surrounding the cartoons via a video on the internet made by Brahim Chnina, father of a schoolgirl targeted by an exclusion for indiscipline. The teenager had lied to her father: she had assured that she had been sanctioned for having spoken out against Mr. Paty’s request made to Muslim students, according to her, to report themselves during this course on caricatures, to which she did not had not attended.

At least fifteen people are indicted in this case, including six college students, the father of the teenager and the Islamist activist Abdelhakim Sefrioui. The latter, questioned recently by the judges, is still in pre-trial detention. “Why and under what pretext should a sick 63-year-old man be kept in detention and in solitary confinement, when compared to other indicted persons who have had proven links with the terrorist, they are free? -measures is obvious in this case”, denounced his lawyers Me Elise Arfi, Ouadie Elhamamouchi and Sefen Guez Guez.
