A woman died in Armand-Frappier Park, in the Chomedey district of Laval, on Wednesday evening, said the Laval City Police Service (SPL).
Around 7:35 p.m. Wednesday evening, 911 received a call regarding a seriously injured woman in Armand-Frappier Park.
Once arrived on the scene, the authorities carried out resuscitation maneuvers, but the victim was pronounced dead on the scene, declared Stéphanie Beshara, public affairs officer for the Laval police service (SPL).
A 20-year-old man was met by investigators in connection with the woman’s death Wednesday evening.
“It is thanks to the information that the population provided us and the rapid intervention of the police that we were able to arrest a person of interest in connection with the events,” explained Mme Beshara.
Several witnesses will be interviewed and a command post has been set up on site to determine the circumstances surrounding the event.
