She was taken to the morgue by mistake. A South African woman was found alive by an employee who came to check the body, in the refrigerator of the morgue of Carletonville, near Johannesburg, South Africa. She had been brought there after being declared dead by paramedics following a traffic accident.
The Distress Alert ambulance company said it had not shown “no sign of life”, reports the South African news site TimesLive, quoted by the BBC. The woman, whose identity has not been revealed, is now being treated in hospital.
An investigation into the incident is underway. The head of the ambulance company has already stated that there was no “no evidence of negligence” from his company. “The cause of this incident is not linked to a lack of training of our paramedics”, he assured.
