A 41-year-old woman and her 47-year-old ex-companion were found dead on Sunday around 8 p.m. in Laloubère (Hautes-Pyrénées), learned Monday, May 15 from franceinfo from a police source and France Bleu Béarn Bigorre.

A police patrol discovered the two bodies on a dirt road. The woman showed several stab wounds while the man was found hanging from a tree, “likely in a suicidal gesture”indicates in a press release the public prosecutor of Tarbes Bérengère Prud’homme, who evokes the track of the “feminicide”.

The forties, Audrey, had been separated from her companion, Samy, for a month, but he had been waiting for her after work for two days. It was the woman’s 20-year-old daughter who reported her missing on Saturday.

25 years in prison for feminicide

According to information from France Bleu Béarn Bigorre, the suspect had already been convicted of a feminide in 2006. He had kidnapped his ex-partner Zina, then had run over her, before stabbing her between 25 and 30 stab wounds. Sentenced by the Assize Court of Indre to 25 years in prison, including 15 incompressible, he was released from prison a year and a half ago, in December 2021.

“He was no longer followed by the judicial authorities since the end of the execution of his sentence in December 2021, and does not appear to have since been involved in a criminal case”explains the parquet floor of Tarbes in a press release. “No witness evokes a climate of domestic violence” between Audrey and Samy, according to the first elements of the investigation relayed by the prosecutor.

The autopsy and the investigations carried out jointly by the DTPJ (territorial direction of the judicial police) of Toulouse and by the BSU (urban security brigade) of Tarbes will have to determine if it is indeed a feminicide followed by a suicide, as well as the time and place of Audrey’s death.
