In Brittany, a wolf had already been filmed in Finistère in 2022. This time, an animal was seen by hunters in Côtes-d’Armor.

In Côtes-d’Armor, a wolf was filmed in a meadow by disbelieving hunters. “The imposing head, body color and size” made Bernard Morange, president of the Graces hunting society, say that it was a wolf. The hunters who saw it say they were privileged. The first photo of a wolf in Brittany dates from March 2022 in Finistère. Since then, this discreet animal has been immortalized by walkers with good reflexes.

The wolf implicated in the death of farm animals

Officially, of the more than 1,100 wolves counted in France, only one has been identified in the Armorican peninsula. But there could be more. According to Guy Joncour, veterinarian at the Côtes-d’Armor hunting and wildlife commission, Brittany is a land of conquest for the animal. Although it does not pose a danger to humans, the wolf is already involved in the deaths of farm animals. In Finistère, 26 sheep were killed according to the authorities, compared to around a hundred according to breeders.
