a wild rave party brings together 1,600 people in a field in Guémar

An unauthorized Teknival-type rally is taking place this Saturday, April 30 in the Guémar sector (Haut-Rhin). It gathers since the middle of the night nearly 1600 people in a field. In a press release, the prefecture mentions having triggered a security device.

The night was restless on the side of Guémar (Haut-Rhin). A rave party, unauthorized Teknival type, gathers there in a field and since the beginning of the night hundreds of people. They are this morning, Saturday April 30, nearly 1600.

In a press release issued this Saturday, the Haut-Rhin prefecture specifies that “this gathering has not been the subject of any prior declaration, which is mandatory for this type of event.” The prefecture quickly activated the departmental operational center to monitor the evolution of the situation and coordinate the actions undertaken.

“To guarantee the safety of the inhabitants and of this event, a security system has been put in place with the commitment of 150 soldiers from the gendarmerie, local gendarmes supported by national reinforcements. The fire and rescue service of Haut- Rhine and civil security associations are also mobilized to provide health care,” the statement continued.

Reached by telephone, the mayor of Orschwiller, the municipality to which this field belongs, Claude Risch does not hide his annoyance. “Listen, I’ve been mayor for thirty years, this field has been the rave theater for thirty years. It’s even become a mythical place. We destroyed the communal hangar of this field four years ago, it has a calmed things down a bit and here we go again.”

The grassy field usually accommodates horses. There the grass has just taken a big hit. “I went there this morning, it’s impressive. Everything is trampled worse there are nearly 250 cars, vans, trucks most of them from abroad parked in the open field. It’s screwed up. On four hectares. Who’s going to compensate us huh?”

The gendarmes have closed access to the meadow, there will be no more cars. On the other hand, Claude Risch is still expecting a lot of people. “The party is scheduled until tomorrow evening and it can be heard as far as the village located 5km away. We cannot dislodge them there, they are not in good condition and too numerous, we can only wait and hope that there is not one left behind, with drugs and alcohol circulating. It is always my great fear.

According to our colleagues from France Bleu, the revelers were first found at the Saint-Hippolyte interchange on the A35 motorway, between 2 and 3 am. The gendarmes therefore had to cut off the highway and dispersed them in the surrounding fields.
