A tribute was paid to Philippe, in Grande-Synthe, in the North, Friday April 19. The fatal attack on the 22-year-old young man deeply shocked the small town.
A procession, a few photos and white roses made it possible to pay tribute to Philippe Coopman in Grande-Synthe (North), Friday April 19. His relatives and hundreds of people gathered for the occasion. After this extremely violent murder, emotions are running high in the small town. “He was an extremely popular presenter”assures a young woman.
His alleged attackers are aged 14 and 15
Residents showed their support for the bereaved family. One of the victim’s cousins spoke: “You won’t be here anymore, we cry thinking about you.” The city is bruised, traumatized, especially since the alleged attackers are only 14 and 15 years old. “Where are the youth going, what is happening?”, asks a woman. In the parking lot where the young man was killed, to counter the horror, dozens of bouquets and words were placed around his portrait.
