“We’re going to block”
A petition which brings together 160,000 signatories denounces in particular the construction of an aluminum tower in the ocean to house the judges of the event and the cameras. According to a resident who signed the petition, this construction site could destroy part of the seabed and “disturb marine wildlife“. Another resident assures that the tower will not be built: “We will be there. We’re going to block.” Paris 2024 announced that a meeting would be held to find solutions to limit the damage caused by the construction site in the ocean.
