After several days of shaking, the earth finally cracked on Wednesday August 3, in this valley southwest of Reykjavik. This is the same region that experienced a historic eruption last year. “This one is different with this lava and these huge fountains spurting out in the middle. I really like it”, explains a woman. This new phenomenon confirms the resumption of volcanic activity on the peninsula after eight centuries of dormancy.
