Hundreds of Remparts fans stayed up late to congratulate the champions of the Gilles-Courteau trophy, awarded to the winners of the QMJHL playoffs, upon their return to Quebec City on Sunday evening.

The “Red Devils” were greeted by a horde of admirers upon their arrival at Jean-Lesage airport around midnight.
Five hours earlier, they had defeated the Mooseheads 5-4 in Game 6 of the final series, thanks to a goal by Pierre-Olivier Roy with 59 seconds left in the game played in Halifax.
Then, the league champions went to join other “fans” near the Videotron Center. There were hundreds of them waiting for them despite the late hour.

Many fans had also followed this decisive match on a giant screen at Place Jean-Béliveau.
Patrick Roy’s players will head to Kamloops on Tuesday, where the Memorial Cup, the emblem of Canadian junior hockey, will be played.
The Remparts will play their first game on Friday against the host Kamloops Blazers.
