[À VOIR] Jacob Fowler and his family cried with joy when he was drafted by the CH

The National Hockey League (NHL) has been producing a report for several years that sheds light behind the scenes of the draft. This year, in addition to following big names like Connor Bedard, Leo Carlsson and Adam Fantilli, the film crew of Welcome to the NHL also documented the journey of the Montreal Canadiens’ third-round pick, goaltender Jacob Fowler.

The NHL followed Jacob and his family until the Habs said his name at 69e total rank.

“Oh my God! I knew it! I knew it! Oh my God!”, immediately launches his father, Jay Fowler, hugging him.

The family had a premonition, since Jacob’s paternal grandfather, who died last year, often wore a Habs jersey. Little Jacob also had a set of mini-hockey in the colors of the CH that he dragged everywhere, younger.

“To see him end up in Montreal, that means a lot,” added his emotional father.

To watch the full documentary, it’s here. The sequence concerning Jacob Fowler begins a little after the 40e minute.
