It’s done: Connor McDavid became just the sixth player in National Hockey League (NHL) history to record a season of 150 or more points.

The prodigious No. 97 scored his 63rd and 64th goals and 87th assist of the campaign in a 6-1 win over the San Jose Sharks to reach that prestigious milestone.
Phil Esposito, Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Steve Yzerman and Bernie Nicholls are the only other athletes to achieve this feat in NHL history.
“The Magnificent” was the author of the last 150-point campaign, in 1995-1996. He had then collected 161.
Other members of the Oilers 100-point club, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Leon Draisaitl, were also involved in the demolition work against the Sharks.
“RNH” scored a goal and collected two assists, while the German star prepared the success of Philip Broberg.
Zach Hyman also found the back of the net.
Tomas Hertl ensured the slim replica of the Californian club.
McDavid will have two more opportunities to boost his stats. The Oilers will face the Colorado Avalanche and, once again, the Sharks, before concluding their regular schedule.
