Seven families find themselves on the street following a violent fire that broke out on Saturday morning in a unit of the Cooperative d’habitation Le Pentagone in Chicoutimi-Nord. The firefighters were alerted around 5:30 a.m. and when they arrived on Maisonneuve Street, the blaze had already spread to the seven apartments.

Nearly thirty firefighters from three barracks were mobilized to fight the flames. “When we arrived, there were flames in the attic all along the building, explains the division manager, Christian Fillion. It is unfortunately a total loss, ”specifies the firefighter.
