At least two people, including a firefighter and a resident, were injured Tuesday, November 2 during a violent fire, which broke out early in the afternoon in a building in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, franceinfo learned with firefighters. The fire started on rue Keufer, near the Porte d’Italie.

The fire affected two apartments, located on the third and fourth floors of a six-story building. It also spread to the stairwell. Two people were injured, the firefighter by a “heat stroke” and a resident by smoke poisoning, according to firefighters.

Significant resources have been deployed with 47 machines and 136 firefighters mobilized, according to Jérôme Coumet, the mayor of the 13th arrondissement. The firefighters specify that several rescues of residents were quickly carried out and that several people were brought to safety. The circulation of the T3 tram was also disrupted during the intervention.

All the inhabitants of this building had to leave their accommodation because the gas and electricity were cut for safety reasons. This evening they are welcomed into their family or in a nearby open gymnasium.
