At least four hectares of vegetation were burned Friday, June 17 on the Menez-Hom, in Finistère in the town of Dinéault. A fire called “violent” by the authorities who declared himself around 6:30 p.m. Two hours later, the approximately 70 firefighters mobilized had however managed to control it.
This fire started in the same area as a previous fire which had affected 60 hectares of vegetation 15 days ago, on Sunday June 5. This fire started from a tree hit by lightning which had gradually burned the surrounding moor.
This time, the causes of the outbreak of the flames are not known. The vegetation is dry in the area due to the high temperatures and the lack of rainfall affecting the department. The sub-prefect Yannick Scalzotto went there at the beginning of the evening.
