A Ukrainian village,Vilkhivka, occupied for three months by the Russian armed forces, was liberated ten days ago. The inhabitants return to this personally and historically painful episode.

About twenty kilometers from Russia, one can observe artillery fire in the distance, rounds of Ukrainian helicopters. Russian soldiers occupied a village of 1,200 people from the start of the war. They have been hunted it ten days ago. From their passage, there remain rockets in the embankments, a soldier’s body that no one wants to pick up and dazed inhabitants, who in each gutted house have a story to tell.

Lucia was targeted when the occupiers were there while she was walking her dog: I heard the bullet whistle behind my back. We learned to recognize the sound of bullets now.“If there is a little hope among the inhabitants, resentment reigns. Teenagers have picked up a rocket launcher and have their vision of the future: They are our neighbours, but they are no longer our brothers. They are dogs, we are separated forever.
