Apart from the Cévennes sector, the Gard as a whole is concerned by red forest fire vigilance this Thursday. Especially that the wind will still blow hard: up to 85 km/h. With the heat and the drought, this obviously increases the risk of fire. During the night of Wednesday to Thursday again, a plant fire was extinguished in Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie, around 800m2 went up in smoke.
The day before, Wednesday, firefighters were mobilized for six fires in the department. In Beaucaire, Garons, Saint-Hilaire de Brethmas, Montfaucon, Sernhac and Saint-Géniès de Comolas.
As a reminder, the use of fire is prohibited in the Gard near wooded areas.
