A vehicle engulfed in flames in Montreal

A burning vehicle was found overnight from Friday to Saturday by the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

At 3:50 a.m. on Saturday morning, authorities received a call about a noise of detonation heard by citizens. Arrived at the scene, the police and firefighters found the vehicle in flames, located on rue Hurteau, near rue Springland, in the borough of Ville-Émard.

The fire was brought under control by the Montreal Fire Department. The police found major damage, up to the total loss.

Due to the suspicious detonation noises heard by citizens, the investigation will be transferred to the SPVM arson squad. The vehicle will be removed from the street during the day. Investigators will attempt to understand the causes and circumstances of the incident.
