Faced with the difficulty of finding staff in catering, the boss of a pizzeria in the Hérault decided to offer a position as a pizza maker at 2,400 euros net per month with a whole host of advantages.
A restaurant in La Grande-Motte (Hérault) is sometimes forced to close on certain evenings for lack of… Pizzaiolo. The last one has just left and there are few serious candidates on the horizon. The owner of the restaurant Le prose has therefore decided to offer a permanent contract at 2,400 euros net per month with two days off and accommodation. An announcement that he posted on social networks. Three days later, 400 people responded to the ad.
But this is not the only vacant place: two seconds in the kitchen, service staff, bartenders… “I am obliged to diminish, limit [le nombre de couverts] because I don’t have the manpower for”, says Joris Bauchais, the restaurant manager. While the summer season will soon begin, in the hotel and catering industry, 150,000 positions are to be filled immediately.
