Solidarity to help the Ukrainians was quickly put in place. In Grasse, in the Alpes-Maritimes, a trustee has transformed part of his professional premises to house families who have fled their country at war.
A Ukrainian mother finds a little smile with her daughters, thanks to the idea of a president of the syndic. In a month and a half, this boss succeeded in transforming his 400 m² of offices in Grasse (Alpes-Maritimes), into a seven-bedroom home for Ukrainian refugees. “We had the IT specialist who made IT available, a kitchen designer who gave us washing machines”says Tjeerd Bangma, president of the syndic of co-ownership.
Before welcoming the refugees, the toilets in the offices had to be transformed into shower rooms. The syndic’s plumber fitted everything in a week, with two workers. In the room of Tatiana and her two daughters, the curtains are in the colors of Ukraine. They benefit from a second bedroom for more privacy, more comfort and to have a free spirit. to take French lessons and integrate. This private and solidarity initiative is unprecedented. The entrepreneur is making this new home available to Ukrainian women and their children for three years.
