The firefighters intervened a little before 9:30 a.m. on Monday morning, called for a heavy truck fire near the Turbie tollbooth, in the direction of Nice towards Monaco. The truck burst into flames and quickly consumed itself. The firefighters set up a fire hose to put out the fire and prevent it from spreading at a time when motorists are numerous and have to pass nearby.
The tunnel closed during the intervention
The tunnel had to be closed while the firefighters intervened. It reopened mid-morning. Twenty-four firefighters were mobilized.
