The President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, announced on Tuesday January 16 that a tribute to the French victims of the Hamas terrorist attacks on October 7 in Israel would be organized on February 7. The head of state revealed this date during a press conference at the Elysée.

“On February 7, at the monument for the victims of terrorism” located on the Esplanade des Invalides in Paris, “I will pay tribute to these victims alongside their loved ones, their families and all those who want to join us,” declared the President of the Republic. “It will be four months to the day after the terrorist attack”, he justified. This project was mentioned by the entourage of the Head of State as early as October, without a precise date.

Emmanuel Macron recalled that France had “lost 41 of his children in the terrorist attacks of October 7, making these attacks the deadliest terrorist act [pour des Français] Since Nice.”

“We still have three hostages who are detained”, recalled Emmanuel Macron. “We are fighting step by step with the Israeli authorities, with Qatar, which has a decisive role in this matter, with several other colleagues, to free them. (…) We are not giving up.”he insisted.
