Perfectly aligned teeth for a dazzling smile, thanks to transparent aligners. Dental aligners are the new trend, supposedly faster than conventional treatment. Is this dental alignment fashion safe? A year and a half ago, influencer Solange Solagram purchased aligners from Dr Smile, a company that operates on the Internet. After this treatment, the influencer says she is satisfied with the result, which she finds “natural”.
Other customers not as satisfied
But not all of Dr. Smile’s customers are so satisfied. Roselyne Gazinguel regrets having let herself be tempted in 2023. She then wanted to slightly straighten her incisors. With the treatment plan scan, he was promised that his teeth would be pushed outward. But the opposite happened. This worrying result did not surprise David Couchat, spokesperson for the French Federation of Orthodontics. According to him, the installation of a dental aligner must be supervised, and the patient closely monitored by a professional on essential points. Contacted, the company Dr Smile assured in an email that “thousands of patients in Europe” use their aligners every year “and are satisfied with it”.
