A traveling surf hostel unique in the world: The Commodore Hostel

The traveling surf hostel, created by Pierre Mainguy, is a school bus. It has been fitted out to accommodate 8 passengers. With its 12 meters long, it has 6 single beds, a double bed, a toilet, a shower, an equipped kitchen, seating areas and a roof terrace to store boards to surf and to eat breakfast. Pierre is at the wheel of this mobile inn. It offers surf trips in Brittany and the Landes. In our department he chose as spots Mimizan, Contis, Seignosse, Capbreton.

The principle of the Commodore Hostel is to promote a life that is outside, so we will spend a lot of time under the pines, we will visit the region, do activities in addition to surfing.

For a stay, the driver of the Commodore Hostel goes to pick up people in a station, for the Landes it’s Morcenx, and he takes them to different surf spots. Three types of stays are offered: for beginner surfers, for those with an intermediate level and for experienced surfers. The bus is parked as close as possible to the beach. Customers sleep in the vehicle for the entire stay, then they are taken back to the station.
