If the name of Andréa Furet or her face means something to you, it’s probably because the 19-year-old young woman participated in the TV movie “He is she“broadcast on TF1 last November. This one caused a sensation. For this film, she “became” a boy named Julien again. But how did she experience this passage? “Thanks to this film, I became aware of what I was. I finally took the plunge, I told others about it. I decided to be myself and live my life (…) I took it as a game: a costume, makeup, a wig”, confessed the young woman who hopes that the project has been able to help young children who are going through the same thing. But also to break taboos around injustices towards the transgender cause.
Now Andréa Furet is about to try a new challenge. Indeed, the beautiful blonde intends to participate in the Parisian beauty election against 158 other participants according to Free lunch this Wednesday, May 18, 2022. After Miss Ile-de-France, she is aiming for the title of Miss France. If she succeeds, the star of “He is she” will have the honor of being the first trans woman to participate in this competition. We keep our fingers crossed for her in any case.
As a reminder, Andréa Furet returned to her transition in the columns of the Parisian. “I have been very lucky. My family, my friends, my loved ones… everyone supported me. At worst, people didn’t care. They said to themselves: ‘If she is happy, it’s her life, she does what she wants’” she recounted.
And regarding her childhood, the comedian added: “I have always been this little child who asks himself questions, observes the world around him, looks at what is happening around him. I felt that there was this difference in me, this singularity, but everything was not yet very clear in my head”. Moreover, Andréa Furet was lucky to have very understanding parents, especially during her transition. It must be said that support is a paramount force in these moments.
