A TER connecting Dunkirk (Nord) to Calais (Pas-de-Calais) struck a group of migrants, leaving one dead and three injured. The four men tried to reach their camp.
On the evening of Thursday, November 4, four Eritrean migrants were struck by a TER while crossing a railway line around Calais (Pas-de-Calais). One is deceased, the other is in a state of absolute emergency and the other two are injured. Many exiles cross the rails of the line which connects Calais to Dunkirk to reach food distribution points in the surrounding camps.
For Emma Monbrun, activist of the Human rights observers association, in contact with one of the injured migrants, they take this path to remain discreet. “They want to limit their presence to protect themselves from police violence and that of disgruntled residents“Says the young woman. More and more migrants are trying to reach England before winter. In just 48 hours, 800 of them were rescued off the Pas-de-Calais.
