A tornado blew through Lot-et-Garonne on Tuesday March 5. Winds blowing at more than 100 km/h were recorded and swept away roofs and cars.

In Villeneuve-sur-Lot (Lot-et-Garonne), a tornado hit homes for around fifteen seconds on Tuesday March 5. The short meteorological phenomenon swept away everything in its path. Winds of more than 110 km/h were recorded in the town. A car without a license flies away even under the force of gusts, before falling back onto its roof. In total, around ten homes were affected.

“It really scared us.”

One of the residents of Villeneuve-sur-Lot was in his house when the tornado passed. He says he heard “a deafening noise” and having seen his garden furniture fly away. In the town’s stadium, the same results: sections of jails flew away, gym equipment ended up in a stream and those present had only a few seconds to take shelter. “There are players who were on the panel so that worried me a little, I wanted to bring them inexplains Nicole Balse, president of the town’s padel tennis club. And suddenly we saw lots of things flying (…) it really scared us.
