A seven-year term which ends with a defeat. Facing Toulouse (1-3), Sunday May 12, Kylian Mbappé played his last match at the Parc des Princes with PSG after seven years in the colors of the capital club. The championship’s top scorer scored the only Parisian goal of the match and was celebrated at the end of the warm-up by the supporters. However, it was not accepted by the club. Its president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi was not cited in the French star’s thank you video.

“A child from the Paris region, you became a PSG legend”the words of the banner displayed by the Collectif Ultra Paris are strong. “Legend”, this is also one of the words used by Ousmane Dembélé at the end of the match, at the microphone of Canal +, to describe his teammate and friend. Supporters’ opinions on the use of this term, however, remain divided, and some even whistled his name when the composition of the teams was announced, in a stadium that was not yet full, at 8:15 p.m.

But while the stands also thanked goalkeeper Keylor Navas, leaving at the end of the season, and Michel Montana, the club’s speaker for 25 years, Kylian Mbappé was also entitled to his tribute, with a tifo in his likeness, surrounded laurels. Grateful, the striker, starter and captain on Sunday evening, went to greet the Virage Auteuil supporters at the end of his warm-up. This tribute from the supporters will be the only one of the evening, since the club did not particularly highlight the best scorer in its history during the celebrations for the title.

A sober “Kylian, the club thanks you”

The French striker did not receive an ovation from the public during the match either, since Luis Enrique, who replaced him several times during the season, this time left him on the pitch until the kickoff. final whistle. His name chanted by the public, Kylian Mbappé provoked it himself, by opening the score in the eighth minute of the match, on an assist from his goalkeeper Arnau Tenas, on a long restart with his foot, for his 116e and last goal under the Parisian colors at the Parc des Princes.

During the French champion trophy presentation ceremony, Kylian Mbappé entered the field at the same time as the other attackers, and when his name was mentioned last, light whistles were heard. The announcer had to lead the audience several times to shout his name for it to really be chanted. Michel Montana also had a few words about the striker’s achievements with Paris Saint-Germain, before adding soberly: “Kylian, the club thanks you.” No post was dedicated to him on the club’s social networks.

All smiles, Kylian Mbappé still took advantage of the celebrations and received frames bearing his image at the foot of Virage Auteuil at the end of the match. He responded to numerous requests for selfies at the edge of the pitch before returning to the locker room. He will have three matches left to play in Parisian colors: against Nice on Wednesday, against Metz on Sunday, and against Lyon in the Coupe de France final on May 25.
