To fight against the coronavirus epidemic, particularly virulent on the island of Reunion, the prefecture announces this Wednesday, December 29, new restrictive measures. As of this Saturday evening, a curfew will be in effect from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., for at least three weeks. The inhabitants will again have to bring certificates to justify their movements on the island.
Private gatherings in party halls and events in public space are also prohibited, except in the case of political or religious demonstration. Reunion Island Prefect Jacques Billant is also restoring gauges in establishments open to the public.
