The operation began calmly on Monday morning. Cases of tuberculosis would have precipitated the evacuation of the camp.
The Jardins d’Eole camp in Paris, where more than a thousand migrants have been settled for several weeks, began to be evacuated calmly on Monday morning June 6.
Shortly after 7 a.m., the first migrants, women in particular, began to board the buses which were to take them to centers mobilized in Ile-de-France. This camp, located in the 18th and 19th arrondissements, has many Afghans, Sudanese, Somalis and Eritreans.

The reasons for the evacuation are multiple. According to The Parisian, three confirmed cases of tuberculosis have been reported and two other people have strong suspicions. This disease, which most often affects the lungs, can be transmitted easily.
The authorities want to avoid contagion favored by the promiscuity of the tarpaulins used as shelters. “They (migrants) will be welcomed in establishments run by social teamssaid Jean-François Carenco, the prefect of Ile-de-France. There are already 65 reception centers throughout the region, this is nothing new.” According to the daily, living conditions there have also deteriorated sharply.
