The Université de Laval Rouge et Or won 31-14 against the Concordia University Stingers on Saturday.
However, the hostilities started badly for the Rouge et Or. The Stingers took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter, notably thanks to two field goals from Eric Maximuik.

Laval University, however, took things in hand from the second quarter. The team took the lead in the second quarter and never looked back, scoring 31 unanswered points. The team’s defense was excellent, only giving up one touchdown at the very end of the game.
While the game was still close, Enzo Dihoulou scored his first career touchdown with 15 seconds left in the second quarter. The latter had an excellent meeting, making two extremely important catches.
In the third quarter, Isaac Gaillardetz did a superb solo job to reach the end zone and score his team’s second touchdown, after receiving a pass from Arnaud Desjardins.
The Rouge et Or will also be able to thank kicker Vincent Blanchard. He made five field goals, including one from 45 yards, and two others from 38 and 36 yards.
Laval is in second place in the standings with a record of three wins and one loss. The Stingers, in their case, recorded a second defeat this season.
The Laval University Rouge et Or will go to Percival-Molson Stadium to face McGill University next week.
