a third Grand Prix in the United States from 2023, on the Las Vegas circuit

Never two without three. After the Austin and Miami Grand Prix, the United States offers itself a third stage of the Formula 1 world championship. From 2023, the paddock will take over the Las Vegas circuit, becoming the third GP run in the States. States after those of Austin (since 2012, and at least until 2026) and Miami (first in May).

“The race will take place at night, on a Saturday in November, on the famous Las Vegas Strip, passing some of the most legendary sites, hotels and casinos in the world.”

Further proof of its growing popularity in the land of IndyCar and Nascar, F1 will indeed make its return to Las Vegas, which had already hosted two F1 Grands Prix in 1981 and 1982.

“It’s an incredible moment for Formula 1 that demonstrates the huge appeal and growth of our sport with a third race in the United States. Las Vegas is a destination known around the world for its excitement, hospitality, thrills, and of course, the famous Strip”welcomed the CEO of F1 Stefano Domenicali.

The circuit, 6.12 km long, will feature 14 turns and three straights, with top speeds estimated at over 342 km / h, according to the organizers. The announcement of this race comes at a time when the calendar for the 2022 season already includes a record total of 23 Grands Prix.

If several of the races contested this year are not yet guaranteed to be on the calendar next year – in particular the GP of France – Stefano Domenicali had assured earlier in March that there is “potential to go up to 24” Grand Prix in a season.
