A teenage girl was killed in a bus accident on the A6 motorway in Eguilly (Côte-d’Or) and twelve people were injured on the night of Saturday to Sunday March 3, the prefecture announced. Around 1:40 a.m., “for a reason still unknown, the vehicle rolled onto its side” on the highway in the north-south direction, specifies the Côte-d’Or prefecture in a press release. The vehicle which transported 51 people, including 41 children (aged 5 to 15) and 10 adults, including the driver, had left Les Andelys (Eure) and was due to reach Saint-Léger-les-Mélèzes (Hautes-Alpes).
The prefecture explained to AFP that the deceased was a teenager. An adult was also seriously injured without life-threatening injuries and eleven other people, five adults and six minors, were more lightly injured. The injured were evacuated to hospitals in Semur-en-Auxois and Dijon. The prefect of Côte-d’Or activated the plan “numerous victims” and the Departmental Operations Center.
