At 26, the man who taught in a primary school in Drancy, in Seine-Saint-Denis, is notably suspected of having transmitted religious songs advocating jihad to members of the Islamic State group with a view to their diffusion.
Sofiane O., 26, a teacher who worked in a primary school in Drancy (Seine-Saint-Denis), was indicted for terrorist conspiracy. He is suspected of having translated into French and sung at least five religious songs promoting jihad and of having transmitted them to members of the Islamic State group with a view to their distribution. The songs were found on the suspect’s computer during a search.
Known to intelligence services since 2015
Monday February 26 evening, on social networks, Aude Lagarde, the mayor of the town, praised the work of the investigators. According to a source close to the investigation, no plan to take action has come to light. The suspect had been known to intelligence services since 2015 and is described as “very rooted in religion”. In police custody, he assured investigators that he was very attached to the Republic and was proud to be a professor.
