“A Casting Error”

According to information from franceinfo obtained from a source familiar with the matter, he is a contract English teacher who arrived at Maria-Deraismes high school last January. This was his first year as a teacher. “It’s a casting error”, tells franceinfo a member of the Parisian establishment. However, the teacher had given “the feeling of having the required qualities” to teach.

According to the first elements of the investigation, the teacher left the establishment after his act. He was arrested a few hundred meters further by the police. He claimed an action against the National Education and the organization of the baccalaureate. To echo his action, the professor invited journalists from the Parisian who filmed the scene. Contacted by franceinfo, the school principal confirms that he has filed a complaint.

On Twitter, the Minister of National Education reacted on Wednesday evening. Pap Ndiaye “strongly condemns the actions of a teacher from the Paris Academy who burned in front of his school the copies of his students“. He assures that the teacher has been suspended. “All measures have been taken to ensure that the students concerned are not penalized”continues the Minister

In the vocational stream, the subject of the English baccalaureate, which is part of the controls during training (CCF), is written by the team of high school teachers under the control of the academy inspectorate. The high school English teachers then exchanged the copies so as not to correct the copies of the students in their classes.

Another particularity of the bac exams in the professional sector, the copies are not digitized, as confirmed by a source close to the file at franceinfo. This is why the headmaster and the Rectorate of Paris are looking for ways to retake the test for the students concerned.
