A symposium to promote the place of women in places of power

Leaders from business and beyond gathered on Thursday for the 2022 Symposium on the Feminization of Leadership, to discuss actions to be put in place to promote the positive role of women in decision-making. On the menu: an inventory of female leadership in the world, exchanges on best practices and actions taken within different industries, or a round table with young leaders.

Professor Tania Saba, founder and holder of the BMO Chair in Diversity and Governance at the University of Montreal, gave an update on current trends, with supporting statistics. It shows that more and more scientific research focuses on the issue of diversity within leadership – a sign of the enthusiasm for the issue.

Studies also show that the more diverse leadership is, the more governance mechanisms improve, and the more social and environmental performance benefits. The Alliance for the Feminization of Leadership brings together nearly 200 leaders from a wide variety of Quebec institutions.
